In October 2006, our first corporate work team went to El Hogar. The MathWorks, Inc. is located in Natick, MA and makes mathematical and computational software for use in the fields of science and engineering. MathWorks is a company with strong interest in social justice and philanthropy and it was not difficult to find enthusiastic work team members. A team of seven MathWorks employees traveled to El Hogar under the leadership of veteran work team leader, Jason Kinchen. Interestingly, the team members had quite a bit of diversity in their backgrounds, coming from India, Mexico, Russia, Scotland and the US. This team kept a daily web log of their time at El Hogar complete with photos and commentary.
