Home of Love and Hope:
Here,
approximately 100 little children live in a family environment through sixth grade.
They receive
all the love that can be given, learn to pick up

their lives and
their pride and come to know a loving God. They learn to respect
and live with others and adapt to discipline and school.
Upon graduation from sixth grade, children can choose to continue studying at El Hogar at our high school locations: The Episcopal Agricultural School and Farm or St. Mary's Technical Institute. As of February 2007, El Hogar added a program for young girls.

The Episcopal Agricultural School and Farm:
At the Agricultural School, children complete three more years of general education
as well as training in agriculture
and animal husbandry. At our farm school they
learn the principles and practicalities of animal husbandry,
and crop production, nuances of
drip irrigation to conserve precious water, use of animal
waste as manure, and composting techniques for a more productive
farm in an
area which earlier used slash-and-burn methods. The students
share their newfound agricultural knowledge with family and rural
neighbors,
thereby enhancing individual farms and the community-at-large
St. Mary's Technical Institute:
Students can choose to attend our technical
institute for three years of further education and training
to become carpenters, welders, or electricians. The children
are thus assured the skills needed to earn a living.
In 2007 we dedicated our new Technical Institute campus at its location in the Amarateca Valley, just outside of Tegucigalpa. Read more about the dedication here.
