“Hope is a state of mind, not of the world. Hope, in this deep and powerful sense, is not the same as joy that things are going well, or willingness to invest in enterprises that are obviously heading for success, but rather an ability to work for something because it is good.”

Vaclav Havel – Czech President (1989-1992)

There have been many students who have been a part of the El Hogar family over the years. They have come from a wide variety of backgrounds filled with sadness, pain, and fear. But their stories changed when they stepped through our doors. At El Hogar, they found the love they needed, the education they required, and a home filled with brothers and sisters just like them.

We never stop thinking about our past students and we make every effort to keep in touch with them and to collect their stories. We’re excited to share some of their stories with you.
