The mission of El Hogar Projects is
to provide a loving home and education in a Christian environment
for abandoned, orphaned and hopelessly poor children, enabling
them to fulfill their ultimate potential as productive
human beings in Honduras.
The mission of El Hogar Ministries, Inc.
is to assist in the improvement of social and educational
conditions in Honduras, principally by supporting El Hogar
Projects. El Hogar Ministries, Inc. raises funds and maintains
an office for coordination and communication with North
American sponsors, contributors and outreach groups which
form a sacred community of service and are the backbone
of financial support for the 200 children at the three
schools and homes of El Hogar Projects.
Update on Tegucigalpa airport and El Hogar work teams
Toncontin airport in Tegucigalpa is reopening, even while they make some changes to expand the runway. In the meanwhile Honduran officials continue to consider a more permanent relocation of the airport to another site outside of Tegucigalpa, which would take some years to complete. Continental Airlines is already flying into Toncontin, and American Airlines will resume flights there as of August 2, 2008. As always, teams should send their flight information to the EHMI office four weeks prior to their trip. If you have questions, please contact our office at 781-729-7600 or by email at: elhogar@3crowns.org.

Rev. W. Richard Kunz, father of Rich Kunz, died at home after a lengthy illness on September 23, 2007. He had been on Hospice care and was able to spend his last hours surrounded by those who loved him best.
Pastor Kunz was an ordained Methodist minister who served various churches
in Brooklyn NY , Bethlehem PA and other urban communities. When asked to describe his years of ministry, he once said, "They were humble but quite
rich". He was a vibrant example of the "worker priest". We ask for your
prayers for the repose of his soul and for strength and consolation for his
wife, Eleanor, and his children, Rich, Joanne and Mary.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday September 26 at 10:30 am at
Fairless Hills Methodist Church, PA.
