Angel Danery Amador is one of our many success stories. He came to El Hogar in 1990 at the age of six. Like many of the children who come to us, he did not have the luxury of dreaming of what he might be some day. His only concern was being able to find enough food each day to stave off his hunger.
When he came to El Hogar, he found a safe haven … and a family that loved, supported and encouraged him. He was able to run and play and enjoy a childhood that otherwise would not have been possible. He developed an interest in music and loved listening to Honduran music on the radio.
Now at the age of 28 Angel works for a television station in Tegucigalpa as a Master Programmer for Channel 45 and is a radio announcer for station 107.3. Angel is continuing his career by studying for a Masters Degree at the best University in Tegucigalpa. While he has found a satisfying way to support himself, he has also made a point of supporting El Hogar as a way to say ‘thank you’ for all it has meant to him. He has hosted our marimba band on television, given us unlimited free advertising and comes to El Hogar as a role model for our students.
