El Hogar has been fortunate to have a strong connection to Canada for many years with the help of some generous and dedicated people:

Margo Mingay and her husband, Rev. Dr. David Winsor, both from Toronto, served as the Co-Executive Directors of El Hogar Projects from 1998-2000. They are each still involved in supporting El Hogar. Margo Mingay is the Sponsor Assignment Coordinator and Service Team Coordinator for the U.S. and Canada. Rev. Dr. David Winsor spreads the word of El Hogar through speaking engagements at churches and organizations throughout the US and Canada. If you are interested in contacting Rev. Both Rosalind and Rick Reycraft serve as members of the El Hogar Ministries Board. Their first trip to El Hogar in 2001 soldified their dedication and resulted in an annual trip both as participants and leaders. Team members of their most recent trips come from their former churches in Cincinnati, Ohio, Jackson Tennessee and their home church St. Luke's in Burlington, Ontario. Involvement in the last two "fiestas" in Toronto has given them the opportunity to share their passion for the mission of El hogar with other equally dedicated people in the Greater Toronto Area. In the Greater Toronto Area there is dedicated support from several churches who raise funds, send service teams and keep El Hogar's profile before their people. We are profoundly grateful for the ongoing commitment of:

- Leaside United Church, Toronto
- Kingsway Lambton Untied Church, Toronto
- St. Luke's Anglican Church, Burlington
- Timothy Eaton Memorial Church, Toronto

We also have great support from concerned and caring individuals in the Vancouver Area. Kent Bubbs through his Universal Outreach Foundation (Canadian Charity) has raised funds for numerous projects.

El Hogar Projects' former Executive Directors, Rev. Barry and Kay Wyckham, are from the Vancouver area. Barry and Kay served as Executive Directors from 2000-2003.

Every other year the enthusiasm meter jumps, the fun indicator rises, the energy level increases, the idea mill is busy churning out suggestions and eventually a new theme is born. On June 8, 2010 scores of interested folk gathered at the Lambton Golf and Country Club for a night of memorable festivities - dancing, live auction, everyone spins and wins wheel, buffet supper, steel band and fiesta costumes. This year we raised over $30,000 to support El Hogar and everyone had a great time. Click here to see photos of this year's event.

Our sponsorship program offers a relationship with a specific child. Your child will write to you a few times throughout the year and, if you would like, you are encouraged to write to them. Our children are very moved by the interest, love and caring they feel through this sponsorship program; they know someone far away cares enough about them to help support them at El Hogar

There are four kinds of sponsorships:
Educational - $600 a year or $50 / month
Housing - $900 a year or $75 / month
Full - $1500 a year or $125 / month
Double - $3000 a year or $250 / month

There are many needs at El Hogar. An unrestricted gift of $60 feeds 80 little children for one day. $500 pays a teacher’s salary for one month. $100 buys drinking water at the Farm for one year. $1000 feeds all 250 children for one week.

Mission teams travel to El Hogar for a week and spend time doing a project for the school, and becoming acquainted with our children. Teams learn to be servants to others and see the transformation of the lives of these children. Read more about how you can join an El Hogar service team.
